Falling Down Video by Scarlett Johansson
Falling Down Review
I have mixed feelings about this video but to sum up - Scarlett Johanssen can't sing for her life but I am a fan hers and love watching this video because she is in it.
The first thing that struck me when I saw this video was that Scarlett sounds bad. There is no other way to put it. I can barely hear the words to her song because her voice is so raspy (in a bad way not, a cool jazzy way like Norah Jones)
This video starts out with Scarlett riding through the night alone and on a bus. While she is driving down the streets at night there are flashbacks taking you between her lonely bus ride and scenes of her being restless. This is a sad song and the video is shot to reflect that emotion.
So as I searched the internet to see what other people thought I found that other people pretty much feel the same way. I found one person defending her saying,
"i honestly think its something different. I thought it was just okay when i heard it the first time, then i wanted to hear it again. i think you just need an open mind... i say keep on singing girl! its not bad at all! there is more than just one genre of music out there, open ur eyes and embrace it!"
Which is true in it's own right. I give Scarlett a lot of creds for trying to be different. But I would say the next statement sums up this video,
"ok, this makes no sense. She needs to realize that we don't like her voice, but she is a good actress. stop trying to be more famous than you are capable. You weren't even a very good actress, just ok. be thankful for the fame you have and get out of the recording studio, Scarlett."
